Location

Sharjah, seen from above, looks like an extension of Dubai to the south, it is the third largest and most popular in the country. It is also the only emirate that has a magnificent view of the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf.

Declared the Cultural Capital of the United Arab Emirates, Sharjah has for its visitors more than 20 museums, art galleries, traditional covered Arab markets (souks), mosques but also the natural beauty of the Arabian desert, mountains, and the sea.

We invite you to learn more about Islamic culture and the history of the country during this excursion!

We begin the journey with a symbol of spirituality: The Cultural Market, or the Koran Roundabout as it is also called. This square has in its center a sculpture of the Koran and around it you can admire and governmental buildings with particular traditional Islamic architecture such as the Ahmad Bin Hanbal Mosque, the cultural palace, the palace of the head of the Emirate etc...…

Then we will go to the "Heart of Sharjah" - the cultural and artistic district. This place is on the UNESCO World Heritage List because of its important role in the history of the Epic. Here we will visit some of the main attractions of the city which are:

Sharjah Fort - built in 1823, former residence of the royal family of the Emirate, government building, prison and now a museum with more than 12 galleries.

The Souk Al Arsah - one of the country's oldest markets, built more than 200 years ago, was once the place where traders from Persia, India and local Bedouin tribes gathered to exchange goods. From there, you can buy souvenirs for your loved ones. You will find pearls, Arabic coffee, abaya and kandura (traditional dresses worn by locals), perfumes, halva, etc.

Sharjah Heritage Village - The Village Museum is the place that preserves the memory of the past for future generations and explores all aspects of the culture, religion, and ancient desert way of life of the inhabitants.

The Al Noor Mosque - one of the most beautiful mosques in the Emirate, built in the Ottoman style and located along the cliff of Sharjah. We will stop and take some pictures from the outside.

The Souk Al Markazi or Blue Square is the largest square in the city and the most photographed site of the emirate. It is a unique place because of its Islamic architectural style, and it is also a symbol of the country. You will enjoy free time here to go shopping and stroll through the 600 stores.
