Abu Dhabi City Tour and Visit to the Louvre Museum
Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates)
Location
From the country's largest mosque to the famous chic cliff called Corniche, there is much to see in Abu Dhabi.
The fascinating capital of the UAE is an archipelago of several hundred islands and natural and man-made peninsulas bathed by the calm waters of the Persian Gulf... We will cross and we will discover together these unique places.
The tour begins with a visit to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque - the father of the nation and founder of the UAE. This mosque is one of the largest in the world and the only one that encompasses this unique interaction between Islam and other cultures of the world. After this visit, we will continue to cross the royal quarter of Al Bateen with the impressive palaces built by Sheikh Zayed for his sons and we will stop to take pictures on the cliff of the famous Abu Dhabi Corniche (Union Towers, Nation Palace and Emirates Palace were part of the filming locations of the famous film Fast and Furious 7). We will then continue our journey to the Heritage Village, which we will visit together; here are exposed the past way of life of the Bedouins, the evolution of theMirat, traditions and the national costume.
We will continue to cross the island of Delma to the Louvre Abu Dhabi - the first and largest universal museum in the Arab world. It is the symbol of the ambition and development of the UAE. This museum, located on the island of Saadiyat, is dedicated to art and civilization.
The construction of this unique museum was approved by the French Parliament in 2007 and represents an agreement between the two countries for a period of 30years. Abu Dhabi paid a whopping $525 million for the Louvre's name to be associated with it.
The museum's architecture represents the modern interpretation of the sun's rays that pass through the leaves of a date palm tree of the desert oasis.
At the Louvre, you will discover more than 600 works of art arranged in 12 separate sequences. You can see classical works of art borrowed from the Louvre Museum in France and other famous French institutions. The children's museum and public spaces will also delight you!
The final leg of this trip will be on the island of Yas which is home to the "Yas Marina Circuit" Formula 1 circuit. A hotel is built half on water and half on land. You will discover the largest shopping centre in Abu Dhabi and the home of the only and largest amusement park under the Ferrari brand in the world: the Ferrari World. Here you will have free time to take pictures and shop at the world's largest Ferrari store.
