If in the historic center of Montepulciano the basements of the Renaissance palaces house the suggestive monumental cellars, beyond the ancient walls, in the surrounding countryside, design and innovation characterize some wineries.
Wine architecture in Montepulciano
This tour will lead you to discover the two architectural souls of Montepulciano: on the one hand the historic cellars, testimony of a millenary tradition, on the other the contemporary designer cellars, admirable examples of modern architecture linked to wine. We will first take you to a modern winery located in the open countryside, where you will observe the vineyards and learn about the production processes of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG. After tasting the wines, you will return to the walls of the historic center to visit an underground cellar. Here you will taste the typical flavors of the territory, such as Tuscan cold cuts, Pecorino di Pienza, bruschetta, combined with the wines of the winery.
