Thrilling Autumn Escapade with Huskies and Quad Bikes (Small-Group)

Dog sleds have been invaluable way of transportation in the Nordic history. This transportation from has been used in multiple different purposes, from seal hunters to police-officers and postmen. To this day, mushing is a way of life for some people. At this autumn escapade you get to experience being pulled by real Siberian Huskies on a summer carriage! While we don't have enough snow on the ground, our guide will be driving the summer carriage. When we get the snow, then you get to drive the sled! In that case our guide will give you driving instructions before going!

After the wonderful 5 km morning safari with the huskies, you get to enjoy a delicious Laplandic lunch at the local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we put on our helmets and hop on to the quad bikes. The quad bike safari takes us back to the forests and up to a fell, where you get to enjoy an amazing view far to the horizon. During both activities, you get to make stops in the magical Lappish surroundings and take pictures to save the memories forever!

Before the departure, our guide gives you guidance on driving, so no previous experience needed! Driving is quite easy to learn, however, it requires a valid driver's license from everyone hopping to the driver’s seat of a quad bike. Depending on the day, the order of these activities can change.

Program duration: 6 hours

What is included: Guidance in English/Finnish, guidance and guide-driven husky safari (about 5 km), quad bike safari (about 1,5 to 2 h), thermal clothing if needed (overalls, shoes, gloves, woolen socks, hat), helmets, balaclavas, lunch at a restaurant and traffic insurance (maximum personal liability €1000).

Available: Daily at 9:30 (1.9. – 30.11.2024, or until the snow arrives, early season starts also depend on the temperature that day).

Price: 328€ / adult and 243€ / child (4 to 12 years). Solo driver + 50€ extra/adult. Not recommended for children under 130 cm in height.

Once the winter arrives and we have enough snow on the ground, we will start offering this safari with self-driven husky sleds and snowmobiles. Please note that we are only offering thermal shoes, so wear shoes suitable for the weather. Slippers and sandals are not recommended since they can fall off easily.

To drive a quad bike, a valid driver’s license is required, please take your license or a picture of your license with you to the safari. Minimum participant number 2 people, maximum 10. Please be ready about 10 minutes prior to your scheduled pickup time, thank you!

Pick-up points: Husky Park and Glass Resort at around 9:00, Hostel Café Koti at around 9:10.

Meeting point: Hotel Metsähirvas at 9:30.
