Three Amazing Temples Tour - Khao Lak (Private Tour)
Phuket (Thailand)
Location
Buddhism is believed to have come to Thailand more than 2.500 years ago already. From spirit houses to temples, ceremonies and more, it quickly becomes apparent how important the national religion, Theravada Buddhism, is to the Thai people. In many ways, it affects the everyday life of not only Thais but also tourists and guests. Let’s broaden our horizon together and better understand the people and their beliefs with the Three Temples Tour.
In the morning, we are picking you up in all comfort and safely make our way to our very first temple spot. You may be surprised by the quiet and lush jungle scenery at first and may wonder where the actual temple is at. Just follow us to climb a few stone steps and enter a true maze of temple cave hallways and holy statues resting on top of huge limestone rocks with stunning viewpoints all around. Remove your shoes, encounter praying monks, taste their healthy and popular herbal tea and find first inspiration of the day.
After the ‘Dragon Cave’, we are exploring the majestic ‘Wat Bang Riang Pagoda’. Surrounded by lush green jungle, luckily, not many tourists usually come here, so it is usually very quiet and tranquil to leisurely stroll around. We will thoroughly inspect the insides of the temple, marvel at historical wall paintings, giant buddhas and protecting snake sculptures and top everything off with a spectacular view at the majestically towering Goddess of Mercy figure peacefully resting in the jungle valley.
Next, we are stopping at a nearby local and authentic Thai restaurant to get newly energized by various tasty Thai dishes.
Lastly, our ‘spiritual path’ for the day leads us to ‘Wat Suhan Kuha’, which not only houses a very impressive and inspiring big golden declining buddha in a natural cave hallway, but also features temple monkeys, more statues, monks to possibly interactive with, cave pathways and stalagmites, a beautiful huge banyan tree and lastly a busy souvenir and snack market just in front. At all times, our knowledgeable and friendly tour guide will happily assist.
