Upon arrival in the small mountain village, enjoy a relaxed walk through the rice fields. Your local guide will introduce you to the region’s diverse plants, herbs, and fruits, offering insight into daily life in rural Bali.

A warm welcome from the Balikaru family awaits. Begin with a short introduction to traditional Balinese music and try playing the Rindik, a bamboo instrument whose gentle tones echo through the village. Then explore the herb and spice garden, discovering the ingredients that shape Balinese cuisine and their use in traditional medicine.

Next, step into the world of Jamu, Indonesia’s ancient herbal elixir. Guided by local knowledge, you will prepare two different types using traditional methods and family recipes and learn about their role in everyday life.

Your culinary experience continues in our open-air Paon Bali kitchen. Under the guidance of our chef, you’ll prepare a variety of authentic dishes using fresh local ingredients—chopping, grinding, and cooking together in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Highlights include dishes such as Sate Lilit, Tum Ayam, traditional sambals, and local desserts.

Afterwards, enjoy the meal you’ve created—a delicious, home-cooked Balinese lunch served in the peaceful setting of Warung Balikaru.

In the afternoon, experience village life more closely: try planting rice alongside a local farmer, visit the Balikaru farm, meet the animals, and learn about the fascinating stingless Trigona bees and their prized honey.

Your day concludes with a gentle walk through the village, offering beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Along the way, gain insight into Balinese architecture and traditional principles of harmony before reaching Belulang Hot Spring, where your driver will be waiting.

Before you leave, capture the moment with a photo together with the Balikaru family—a lasting memory of your day. You’ll also receive your cooking class certificate and recipe collection after your visit.
