Orgosolo: carasau bread workshop and visit to the Bread Museum
Orgosolo (Italy)
Location
A beautiful experience, between food and tradition, at the Carasau Bread Museum in Orgosolo, in the heart of Sardinia in the province of Nuoro. Located in the center, framed by the characteristic murals that fresco the streets, the museum boasts about two centuries (latest evidence refers to 1848). Remained intact in its beauty and typicality of the buildings of the period.
The museum houses the ancient utensils used for the production of the typical bread of Orgosolo: "Su Pane Tostu" (Pane Carasau) and "s’ispianada" (the esplanade). You will try your hand at a didactic activity where you will literally have to put your "hands in dough", to understand the techniques and secrets of bread making in all its phases.
The museum is also embellished with a short film featuring three elderly Orgolesi. Finally you will enjoy a delicious tasting of the typical bread accompanied by an excellent cheese produced by the local shepherds and a glass of local "cannonau" wine.
