Nov 2025 ~ Ecuador, Mighty Andes and the Amazon Basin ~ Guided *TREK*
Quito (Ecuador)
Location
Overview
An extraordinary trip from exploring Quito, the mighty Cotopaxi Volcano and its surroundings to the depths of the primary forest in the Amazon Basin in Cuyabeno. Until the Peruvian border!
After getting to know a bit of Ecuador's capital city Quito, you make your way down south to the most beautiful volcano South America has to offer: COTOPAXI!
You will stay in a rural lodge within the National Park, explore waterfalls, go horseback riding, hiking, and enjoy the local cuisine and discover its secrets, before having a night cap near a log fire.
After returning to Quito, you will go east to the Amazon Basin, a place only very few people have experienced before!
During this incredible journey you will visit the Eastern part of the Ecuadorian Amazon Rainforest as far as the border with Peru along the Aguarico, Lagarto Cocha, Cocaya and Napo rivers with great chances of watching wildlife.
In this remote area of the Planet, only very few people live. Native nationalities like the Siona, Shuar or Waorani inhabit the shores of the rivers. Roads or internet reception are foreign words to this part of the continent.
Animals like Anacondas, Piranhas, Caimans, several different species of monkeys, spiders, and an abundance of birds are omnipresent in this region.
You will sleep in tents and simple lodges near indigenous communities throughout this trip.
Your whole journey in the Amazon will be around 600 Km in total. During this fantastic tour you will have the opportunity to visit Iripari Lake (Zancudo Cocha) which is the largest blackwater lake in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
You will also have the chance to admire the biggest flooded forest area in our Ecuadorian Amazon where you will easily observe the legendary pink freshwater Dolphin (Inia geoffrensis).
This is truly a trip of a lifetime!
