Immerse Yourself in Lyon’s Culinary Heart !
Step into Les Halles Paul Bocuse, the ultimate destination for food lovers in Lyon, and experience the sights, smells, and flavors of France’s gastronomic capital. From Lyonnaise specialties to cheese and wine tastings, this shared walking tour lets you explore the market like a local, discovering the ingredients that make up a traditional French meal.
Originally established in the Cordeliers area in 1859 and relocated near Part-Dieu in the 1970s, Les Halles is today a must-visit for gourmets. Visitors from all over the world come to enjoy the market’s colorful stalls, taste Lyon’s iconic foods, and soak in its lively atmosphere.
Learn the fascinating history of “Les Mères Lyonnaises” — the pioneering women chefs who shaped Lyon’s culinary identity, including La Mère Richard, La Mère Brazier, and La Mère Vitté. Stroll past fresh fish, oysters, seasonal produce, and artisan products, chatting with passionate merchants and sampling directly from the source.
For the Lyonnais, Les Halles isn’t just a market — it’s a place to gather, share a glass of wine with oysters, and celebrate food with friends.
