Tasmania’s East Coast is approximately 220 km of stunning coastline and includes the Great Eastern Drive, which extends over 176 km of the most scenic, coast-hugging road imaginable. This is one of Australia’s greatest road cycling tours and will lead you to places and moments you’ll never forget.

It is, however, not only on the bike that inspires as Tasmania is rich in Australian culture and a must do destination for any intrepid traveler. So, if you are a keen rider or indeed wish to enjoy the fresh air of the East Coast region join us for a trip that will give you a lifetime of memories.

Cycling the East Coast of Tasmania is a rolling postcard.  From the Bay of Fires all the way to Hobart, the highlights are endless.  The stunning beaches of Bicherno, the unmistakable Wineglass Bay in Freycinet National Park and Maria Island to name just a few.   The distances between towns are short or long enough to suit most cyclists.  All this makes cycling in Tasmania a genuine world-class cycling holiday.

Whether you are looking for a cultural odyssey, a physical challenge, or to meet interesting travel companions, our tour is sure to be a life-affirming and personally enriching adventure. Supported by a qualified and experienced guide, you will have the ability to completely immerse yourself over 7 days in the wonders of Tasmania.

  • Fitness: Riding the East Coast is a moderate and extremely rewarding adventure. To complete the journey, you will need good mobility, endurance, fitness and little-to-no injuries or chronic pain. There are some long rides balanced out with the easy.
  • Memorable: With unique sites, ocean breezes and rolling hills, comes unforgettable scenery and amazing experiences. If you like historic buildings, old pubs and country roads and villages where perhaps distant ancestors once road themselves, you will thrive.
  • All interested travellers will be invited to partake in a small video call with our guide to finalise suitability for this trip. Onboarding with 'Know before you go' and 'What to bring' details will be provided to ensure you are ready and right to go :)

Please Note

  • Public transportation nearby
  • Passport required (for international visitors)
  • Experience riding bikes and an understanding of safe practices whilst on roads.
  • You need to be a capable cyclist. You will cover large distances some days, often on undulating and winding roads.
  • You will need to be confident cycling on roads, and it is essential that you have road cycling experience. The route followed on this trip is on roads that will, at times, have no shoulder.
