Half day excursion with truffle lunch: Montefeltro Explorer

This excursion takes you to the discovery of the ducal lands around Urbino, which will be the starting point. In the morning, your driver will pick you up at the meeting point to head to Urbania, formerly known as Casteldurante. You will have a few hours to explore this small, excellently preserved and pretty village that nevertheless offers interesting sights. In the price of this activity you will have included admission to the town's Ducal Palace (directly overlooking the course of the river providing a very impressive glimpse) and the lovely Bramante Theater. But it doesn't end there, during your time in Urbania a local guide will walk around with you while narrating anecdotes and stories about these ducal lands, but most importantlym, guide will have a special key that will open a palace generally closed to the public: The Barco Ducale. This ancient structure was used as a hunting lodge by the Dukes of Montefeltro and you will get to explore a portion of it before visiting another rare gem. It is the Church of the Dead and the Cemetery of the Mummies. In fact, in Urbania there is this particular church that houses mummified and exposed bodies.

At the end of teh visit, driver will then take you to Acqualagna, the truffle capital of central Italy. We have already booked everything for you and hope you will arrive with an empty stomach because the smells and flavors will make you salivate. The Acqualagna truffle is one of the most renowned in Italy and you will have the opportunity to enjoy it with a meal based on this prized ingredient.

Once lunch is over, the car will take you to the Furlo Gorge. This is a gorge carved out by the Candigliano River, later barred by a dam that created an artificial lake of it. You will have a chance to take photos and take a short walk before returning to Urbino, comforrably carried by your car after a memorable morning.
