Christchurch City Tour - Full Day

Christchurch City, the Botanic Gardens and lunch.

Having picked you up from your Christchurch hotel or from your cruise ship in Lyttelton or Akaroa (with a surcharge), we drive to Christchurch and by the city’s centre. Here we discuss the exciting new city and point out some highlights of the rebuild. We will also delve into the history of city and explore the beautiful Botanic Gardens where you will discover why New Zealand’s flora and fauna is unique. Stops will be made at Cathedral Square, the River precinct, the Transitional Cathedral (Cardboard Cathedral) and the Tannery shopping precinct. Lunch will be taken in a local cafe or restaurant.

During the day we will head to the Port Hills which overlook Christchurch and present stunning views of the city, Canterbury Plains, Lyttelton Harbour and the distant Southern Alps.

Please note the order of activities will be dependent of pick up/drop off points and weather.

For people arriving on a cruise ship in Akaroa, the drive to Christchurch is 1.5 hours in each direction. There is a surcharge for pick up and drop off in Akaroa.
