Overview

Experience the ultimate Kakadu adventure on this immersive 5-day 4WD safari from Darwin. Explore remote waterfalls, ancient Aboriginal rock art, exclusive permit-only areas, and some of the Northern Territory’s most spectacular landscapes while camping under the stars in the heart of Kakadu National Park.

Day 1 begins with pickup from Darwin before travelling into Kakadu National Park. Visit the famous Ubirr rock art site and climb to the lookout for sweeping views across the Nardab Floodplains and Arnhem Land. In the evening, settle into your safari camp at Mardukal Billabong and relax around the campfire.

Day 2 takes you deep into Kakadu with a 4WD journey to the stunning Jim Jim Falls. Swim beneath towering sandstone cliffs before visiting Warradjan Cultural Centre to learn about the region’s Traditional Owners. Finish the day with a sunset wildlife cruise on Yellow Water Billabong, spotting crocodiles and birdlife in their natural habitat.

Day 3 is filled with waterfalls and swimming holes. Hike through paperbark forests to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), then continue to Gunlom Falls where natural infinity pools overlook southern Kakadu. Spend the night camping near Gunlom Falls.

Day 4 is dedicated to exploring the incredible Jarrangbarnmi (Koolpin Gorge), a restricted-access wilderness area rarely visited by travellers. Hike through rugged landscapes to discover pristine rock pools, waterfalls, and dramatic escarpments in one of Kakadu’s most remote regions.

Day 5 begins with a visit to historic Old Goodparla Homestead before a final swim at Ikoymarrwa (Moline Rockhole). After lunch, travel back to Darwin via Pine Creek, arriving in the late afternoon.
