Exclusions
- The boat taxi from Taiohae to Hakaui Valley. (roundtrip)
The transfer is provided by separate companies and must be paid for directly to them. We arrange this service for our guests without taking any commission. The cost for a boat taxi accommodating 1 to 4 people is 16,000 xpf for a round trip, shared among the passengers. For groups larger than 4 people, the cost is 5,000 xpf per person for the round trip. Boat taxi companies only accept local currency in cash.
Please Note
- All guests should be in good health and physically fit for the hike.
- The recommended age range is 1 to 65 years old.
- The boat taxi from Taiohae to Hakaui Valley (roundtrip) is not included in our price. We can arrange it for you, and you will pay the boat taxi company separately. Let us know in advance if you prefer to book the boat taxi yourself.
What do I need to bring?
- 1,5 liters of water per person
- Water-friendly hiking or running shoes (we will be crossing the river multiple times)
- Since Hakaui lacks a port or dock, you'll be dropped off in shallow, knee-deep water
- Sunscreen and insect repellent against mosquitos and sandflies
- Wear lightweight clothing and it's wise to take a raincoat
